Famed environmentalist
and Pulitzer Prize winning political cartoonist J.N. "Ding" Darling
fell in love with Captiva and 'Tween Waters Inn in the 1930s,
making the resort his winter home for almost a decade. During
that time, he was often inspired to recreate his unique vision
of island life on paper or, occasionally, in the guest registry.
A collection of his island stylings, both original and reprints,
are on display at the Old Captiva House.
